The Lactation Center retail shop is where moms can find a variety of carefully selected merchandise to support them throughout their motherhood journey. In conjunction with The Family Life Center, the Lactation Center provides a full spectrum of services to help mothers feel confident before delivery, during and after your hospital stay. Our in-house experts are registered as Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) and are ready to offer you the best possible advice and instruction to help ensure that your breastfeeding experience is as successful as possible.
Conveniently located on the first floor of Women’s Memorial Hermann at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. Across from the entrance into the Family Life Center. Free parking is nearby off Pinecroft Drive and off Medical Plaza Drive. One on one, lactation consultations are available by appointment only. Adventures in Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding is full of surprises, joy, and challenges! Come share your adventure with other new moms. This free, mother-to-mother support group gives nursing moms a comfortable place to share their experience with breastfeeding, while also providing one another with encouragement and support – all under the guidance of an experienced Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). This group meets every Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The class is free and requires no registration. Bring your baby along – all babies birth to three months of age are welcome.

The Neonatal ICU at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands has collaborated with the Mother’s Milk Bank of Austin (Houston location) for several years in order to secure donor breast milk for our tiniest, most vulnerable patients. We are a donor milk collection site for the Milk Bank, with a drop off in our Lactation Center during regular store hours (Monday through Friday). The Milk Bank drop off depot site allows for lactating women who produce more breast milk than their child/children need to donate it back to premature babies in Texas.
How to get set up as a donor? Following a screening process by the Mother’s Milk Bank of Austin, the lactating mom simply drops off her milk at our Lactation Center. There, we place the donated breast milk in the freezer and store it for a short time before it is officially collected by the Milk Bank. Under the Milk Bank’s care, the milk is pasteurized and processed to meet the specific needs of fragile and sick premature infants.
