Compassion is at the heart of everything we do at Memorial Hermann and is key to delivering on our brand promise of service excellence as we continue our role as a dedicated community partner focused on improving the health and wellbeing of all Houstonians. To advance Memorial Hermann’s vision of creating healthier communities, the Memorial Hermann Community Benefit Corporation (CBC) implements initiatives that work with other health care providers, government agencies, business leaders and community stakeholders that are designed to improve the overall quality of life in our communities.

Our work is built on the foundation of four intersecting pillars: Access to Health care, Emotional Well-being, Food as Health, and Exercise is Medicine, and takes us outside of our campuses and into the community.

Community Resource Centers

The Community Resource Centers provide one-stop locations where individuals and families in our community can get help with access to health care, health education, and social services.

Exercise is Medicine

Our Exercise is Medicine program offers the tools to improve the health and well-being of our community through incorporating exercise as a vital sign into physician offices, exercise prescriptions, and activation of parks.

Health Centers for Schools

Memorial Hermann Health Centers for Schools provide medical, mental health, dental, nutritional, navigation, and exercise programming to eligible children and adolescents in more than 80 schools in the greater Houston area.

Food as Health

Today, patients are screened for food insecurity and have access to several resources providing support and assistance in getting healthy, nutritious food.

Nurse Health Line

The Nurse Health Line was created for Greater Houston residents who are experiencing a health concern and are unsure of what to do or where to go. Now available 24/7.

Neighborhood Health Centers

Designed to serve as a “medical home” to uninsured working families, the goal is to provide this population with preventive, acute, and chronic care.
