Recently, U.S. Representative Pete Olson took a hard hat tour of the patient tower site. “What a wonderful addition this will be for our community,” said Congressman Olson. “We appreciate the commitment Memorial Hermann has made to serve our growing community.”
The $93 million expansion project, will nearly double the size of the existing campus. The patient tower will have space to add 90 patient beds to the 81-bed hospital and allow for future growth. The six-story patient tower is being constructed so that four additional floors can be added at a later date.
“Congressman Olson has always been supportive of our mission at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land, to provide safe, high reliability, high quality care to our community,” said Greg Haralson, Sr. Vice President and CEO, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land.
The hospital has also added eight new beds to the emergency center, installed an advanced Computed Tomography (CT) and added a 1.5T MRI to support expanded imaging capability for children and adults. In addition, a new robotic operating room, an expanded well-baby nursery, a gift shop and additional parking have all been completed.
