HOUSTON (June 12, 2014)

Memorial Hermann Health System today announced the purchase of a 32-acre site for development of a hospital campus. The site is located on the northeast side of US Highway 290, south of Mason Road, northwest of Mueschke Road, and southeast of the Grand Parkway.

“We intend to develop a medical center with substantial inpatient and outpatient capabilities needed by the rapidly growing Cypress area communities,” said Dan Wolterman, Memorial Hermann president and CEO. “This will allow us to provide the superior care that the greater Houston community has come to expect from Memorial Hermann – a major medical facility with the size and scope of services that are consistent with our market leader position in the community.”

The site is the last significant piece of developable frontage land, not already subdivided by a developer, along US Highway 290 and inside the future Grand Parkway. The site currently has convenient access, which will be further improved with the upcoming widening/construction of US Highway 290.

With 12 hospitals spanning the greater Houston area, Memorial Hermann provides exceptional care in pediatrics, heart, neuroscience, orthopedics, women's health, specialty surgery, and organ transplantation. The system’s flagship hospital, Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, is home to one of only two certified Level I trauma centers in the greater Houston area, providing 24-hour emergency and trauma care to more than 40,000 patients a year. In addition, Memorial Hermann Life Flight® air ambulance service operates a fleet of six helicopters, providing emergency rescue and air transport services to a multi-county area.
