Obesity affects one in four Americans and is the second leading preventable cause of death in the U.S. after smoking, accounting for more than 400,000 deaths annually. Walk from Obesity was established by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) to give hope to those suffering from obesity. The mission of the Walk from Obesity is to bring together all who are affected by obesity to draw National attention on the need for awareness, treatment and advocacy initiatives.
