Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital recently received the Pathways to Excellence™ designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The designation is given to healthcare organizations that create positive work environments for nurses and is a testament to professional satisfaction among nurses. It also identifies the best places for nurses to work.
"This designation is only one step in our continued effort to create a supportive and encouraging working environment for our nursing professionals. We will continue to strive to make the best possible workplace for all of our employees," said Meg Shorrock, chief nursing officer for Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital.
For an organization to earn the designation, it must successfully undergo a vigorous review process documenting quality initiatives that create a positive work environment as defined by nurses and supported by research. Nurses in the organization then verify the presence of the criteria through participation in an online survey.
"This designation is a true testament to the amazing nursing staff we have here," said Erin Asprec, chief executive officer for Memorial Hermann Southeast. "We know this designation will further promote a culture of engagement, safety, and amicable care that will apply to the hospital as a whole."
