As a result, 24 student-athletes were referred to a pediatric cardiologist affiliated with Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The Memorial Hermann Northeast Team next travels to Humble High School in the Humble ISD on April 29 to provide athletic screenings to middle and high school students and EKGs to all in-coming ninth grade student-athletes.

Memorial Hermann Northeast is the official sponsor of Humble ISD, New Caney ISD and Sheldon ISD athletics. The remaining schedule for physicals is:

  • Porter High School, May 14
  • Atascocita High School, May 20
  • New Caney High School, May 27

Physicals are required by the University Interscholastic League (UIL) for any student-athlete who wishes to participate in athletics. Results are immediately available to each student-athlete along with recommended follow-up if problems are detected.

Questions about the screening should be directed to the student-athletes coach or to the school athletic trainer.
