HUMBLE, TEXAS (October 04, 2019)

Pathway to ExcellenceMemorial Hermann Northeast Hospital once again joins a premier group of organizations that have received the Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This is the hospital’s third consecutive Pathway to Excellence designation since it was first recognized in 2012.

The Pathway designation is a global credential that highlights Memorial Hermann Northeast’s commitment to creating a healthy work environment where nurses feel empowered and valued.  It is a testament to professional satisfaction among nurses and identifies best places to work for nurses.  Research also indicates that Pathway nurses are engaged, resulting in reduced turnover, improved safety, and better patient outcomes.

“We are thrilled to once again be recognized by the ANCC as a Pathway to Excellence organization,” said Nikki Roux, JD, MBA, RN, CEN, FACHE, NEA-BC and Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Memorial Hermann Northeast.  “But more importantly, we are honored to be recognized by our very own nurses.  Their feedback - and ultimately this designation - validates a culture that encourages, supports and invests in one of most valuable assets – our nurses.”

For an organization to earn the designation, it must successfully undergo a vigorous review process, documenting quality initiatives that create a positive work environment as defined by nurses and supported by research. Nurses in the organization verify the presence of the criteria through participation in an online survey.

As a Pathway organization, Memorial Hermann Northeast and its sister facilities including Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital and TIRR Memorial Hermann, lead the effort to enhance quality of care, patient and nursing safety, and the future of healthcare delivery.
