Feby Abraham

Memorial Hermann Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Feby V. Abraham, Ph.D., as EVP, Chief Strategy Officer, effective January 6, 2020. Abraham, who will join Memorial Hermann’s executive leadership team, will guide the health system’s strategic priorities in alignment with its vision for the future—to create healthier communities, now and for generations to come.

“The healthcare industry is at an inflection point in terms of value-based care and consumer demand across all aspects of the care experience. Providers must be poised to respond and meet patients’ needs in high-reliability, high-quality and lower-cost scenarios and we want to strengthen our leadership team to address just that,” said David L. Callender, M.D., President and CEO of Memorial Hermann.

Abraham brings with him more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector. Most recently, he served as a partner at McKinsey & Co., where he worked for nearly 12 years advising private equity funds across sectors, including health care. He has also worked closely with healthcare companies across the value chain, including bio-pharma, medical products, and health systems and services. His work has included corporate strategy in a disruptive environment, digital strategy, and business value creation topics.

“In an era of unprecedented change in health care, Feby brings a clear line of sight into the technologies, trends and innovations that are reshaping our industry, as well as transformative ideas for ensuring Memorial Hermann’s position ahead of the curve,” added Dr. Callender. “We are thrilled to have him join our team and help grow our community impact at every scale.”

Prior to McKinsey, Abraham served as an investigator on the research and development (R&D) team at GlaxoSmithKline. He holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Rice University, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, India.

“Memorial Hermann represents the best in health care today—a system that has its eye on the future and a steadfast focus on improved outcomes and experiences for the people it serves,” said Abraham. “I’m thrilled to join this incredible community of passionate care providers and to be part of their inspired work.”

The announcement of Abraham’s appointment follows the recent arrival of Dr. Callender as the system’s new President and CEO, and Memorial Hermann’s unveiling of a new organizational vision and set of values—all part of a strategic effort to innovate and sustain the health system’s infrastructure for the future.
