Memorial Hermann hospitals were recently awarded the Pathways to Excellence™ designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The designation is given to healthcare organizations that create work environments in which nurses can flourish and is a testament to professional satisfaction among nurses. It also identifies best places to work for nurses.
Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital all received this designation.
"This accomplishment serves as confirmation of our commitment to foster a work environment that encourages and supports our exceptional nursing staff," said Sarah Sinclair, Memorial Hermann chief patient care officer.
For an organization to earn the designation, it must successfully undergo a rigorous review process documenting quality initiatives that create a positive work environment as defined by nurses and supported by research. Nurses in the organization verify the presence of the criteria through participation in an online survey.
"The Pathways to Excellence designation has a very positive overall impact," said Sinclair. "It promotes a culture of staff engagement, quality, safety and collegiality among all disciplines and it benefits the entire hospital."
