Senior getting shotsMemorial Hermann Northeast Hospital and the Northeast Hospital Foundation, in partnership with the City of Humble Seniors Program and Cardiovascular Association, P.L.L.C., host the 16th Annual Health Fair for Seniors on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 8 a.m. - noon, at the Humble Civic Center.

Free and open to the entire community, the Health Fair includes complimentary flu shots, a wide variety of health screenings, numerous information booths, as well as cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure screenings. Diabetic foot examinations, memory tests, drug interaction and medical reviews, and body fat analysis will also be offered. Information about cancer, independent and assisted living, special programs for seniors, fire and personal safety, Harris County Precinct 4 activities, law enforcement services, medical equipment, and the Medicare discount drug program will available.

The event is sponsored by Arbor Terrace at Kingwood Town Center, Stryker Orthopaedics, and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Humble.

Several physicians, surgeons, and specialists affiliated with Memorial Hermann Northeast, including Cardiovascular Disease Specialist Madaiah Revana, MD and Colon and Rectal Surgeon Tal R. Raphaeli, MD, will be on hand to provide education and information. Memorial Hermann Northeast’s Wellness Center, Imaging Center, and Orthopedics and Sports Medicine will have information booths at the event.

Other participating organizations and businesses include the Lake Houston Family YMCA, the Blood Center, the Humble Police Department, Humble Dentist Susan Lunson who will perform oral cancer screenings, Atria Kingwood Senior Living, Lone Star College-Kingwood Campus, Vitamins & Such, Connect Hearing, Rosemont Assisted Living and Memory Care, Sarahcare Adult Day Care, and TIRR Memorial Hermann.
